This Director role is central to that transformation and combines deep, hands on Workday expertise with enterprise architecture leadership. You will act as the senior point of escalation for complex design and configuration, shape a multi year People Technology roadmap, and lead a growing Workday centre of excellence. This is a Toronto area role with a requirement to be onsite 4 days per week at the head office.

- Own the enterprise Workday architecture and ensure cohesive, scalable design across Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, Integrations, Reporting, and Analytics
- Lead hands on configuration and solution design, including complex business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, security architecture, and cross module patterns
- Drive data governance and data quality standards across worker, organizational, payroll, and talent data, ensuring integrity and readiness for enterprise scale
- Guide Workday release impact assessment, testing, deployment, and communication, and support new module rollout or expansion (example Workday Learning)
- Partner closely with Integration teams and senior stakeholders (HR, Finance, Legal, IT) to align end to end processes, minimize unnecessary customization, and prioritize a sustainable roadmap
- 10+ years of deep Workday experience with broad module exposure, including strong Talent Management, plus Core HCM, Reporting, Security, and Integrations
- Advanced technical mastery in calculated fields, condition rules, business process configuration, security design, dashboards and analytics, and cross functional architecture
- Experience with Workday integration tools and approaches (Studio, EIB, PECI, REST and SOAP APIs) and strong integration oversight mindset
- Proven people leadership, with experience leading a technical team (this role leads 2 direct reports and 10 indirect reports) and coaching a high capability COE
- Large scale, high volume enterprise environment experience (retail or financial services preferred), with executive presence and the ability to influence senior leaders
- A stable, scalable Workday platform with consistent architectural standards and strong documentation and governance
- Faster resolution of complex configuration and design escalations, with the team increasingly solving independently
- Measurable improvements in colleague and manager experience through simpler, more intuitive, automated processes
- High quality data outcomes across HR, Payroll, and Talent, with clear standards and reduced defects and rework
- A clear, prioritized multi year roadmap that balances business demand, compliance, maintainability, and long term system health
- Base salary budget up to 190k
